We designed and built the official maternity and neonatal website for the Suffolk and North East Essex Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) one clear, trustworthy place for expectant parents to understand their choices through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

The brief
Clear, correct information when it matters most.
Maternity information for the area was spread across several hospital trusts, leaflets and national resources. Families finding out they were pregnant had no single local starting point and no easy way to compare where to give birth.
The LMNS needed a site that was factually correct, accessible to every family regardless of language, ability or digital confidence, and built around personal choice because no two families are the same.

Workshops with the LMNS team and Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnership to understand what families actually ask, and when.

Journey-led structure
Content organised around the pregnancy journey “Pregnant? What’s next”, “Your choices”, “Pregnancy journey”.

Accessible by default
High-contrast type, plain-English content, clear headings and keyboard-friendly navigation designed against WCAG 2.2 AA.

Tested with parents
Expectant parents tested the site over several weeks before it went fully live, and their feedback shaped the final build.
